Curator Cat: A Return to Caturday Blogging!

Greetings, Fabulous Felines and Hoomans of Blurtlandia!

We have been gone from these pages for a while, on account of things happening mostly in the Hooman world, more than the Feline world.

Shangri, Nala and Shadow, all together in one place rare!

And such it is, when you're a cat, with a cat blog. We cats lack opposable thumbs, which makes it impossible to use the computer keyboard on our own.

Except to occasionally send untimely and accidental email...!

Good grooming matters!

Our Hoomans have been struggling a bit — as many families are, here in the USA — in trying to get declining incomes to work with increasing prices.

Mostly, they seems to do this by "working" more, which consequently means less time for things such as maintaining a cat blog.

It's OK, though... as long as the flow of food and treats continues without interruption!

On the whole, all is well here!

Since last time we were here, Shangri and Nala had their one-year anniversary of becoming part of our family! They fit in quite well here, although they do remain somewhat shy, mostly on account of their early days as semi-feral kittens.

Nala is the more curious and outgoing of the two, always exploring and trying to get into "stuff," while Shangri is a lot more laid back.

Shangri has also grown into being the largest cat in the household — by sheer size — having grown into a 20-lb 9kg ball of very soft fluff. He's not fat, just big, and we think he may have a bit of Maine Coon in his genetic history.

Shangri now dwarfs the cat tower that used to be too big for him!

Meanwhile, Smudge has passed her 20th birthday and is doing remarkably well for a cat of her age.

Naturally, she's not as spry and athletic as she once was, and sometimes she's a little arthritic in the hind quarters, but she's still enjoying her senior years.

And that's about all the news we have, for this update. We're hoping to find time to post more regularly again... but only time will tell!
