El Pacto por la Cultura promueve un mural colaborativo en el Callao para festejar la diversidad peruana. En el contexto de la plataforma multiactor, el Ministerio de Cultura y UNESCO Perú, con la colaboración de Inca Kola, convocaron a diez artistas locales para intervenir la zona monumental del Callao con una obra que honra las Fiestas Patrias y realza la identidad local. The Pact for Culture is promoting a collaborative mural in Callao to celebrate Peruvian diversity. As part of this multi-stakeholder initiative, the Ministry of Culture and UNESCO Peru, in collaboration with Inca Kola, invited ten local artists to create a mural in Callao’s historic district that honors Peru’s Independence Day celebrations and highlights local identity. Para los peruanos, las Fiestas Patrias son una ocasión para recordar todo lo que les genera orgullo. Estos sentimientos se reflejan en las distintas maneras de celebrarlas, que incluyen la gastronomía, la música, la danza e incluso el arte.

For Peruvians, the Fiestas Patrias are an occasion to reflect on everything that makes them proud. These feelings are reflected in the various ways they celebrate, which include food, music, dance, and even art.

En este sentido, con la finalidad de fortalecer la identidad cultural, promover la recuperación del espacio público y festejar la diversidad del país en el mes patrio, diez artistas se unieron para crear un mural que muestra la riqueza de Perú.

With this in mind, and with the aim of strengthening cultural identity, promoting the revitalization of public spaces, and celebrating the country’s diversity during Independence Month, ten artists came together to create a mural that showcases Peru’s richness.

Esta iniciativa colectiva ha sido promovida por los socios del Pacto por la Cultura hacia 2030: el Ministerio de Cultura, UNESCO Perú e Inca Kola. Su desarrollo contó con la colaboración del grupo Camsa, que facilitó el espacio para la pintura del mural. Además, participaron artistas nacionales destacados que, en diálogo con la comunidad y con el apoyo de la Dirección Desconcentrada de Cultura del Callao, elaboraron una pieza única que combina diferentes estilos y que ahora se integrará al legado cultural de la zona.

This collective initiative was promoted by the partners of the Pact for Culture toward 2030: the Ministry of Culture, UNESCO Peru, and Inca Kola. The Camsa Group collaborated on the project by providing the space for the mural to be painted. In addition, prominent Peruvian artists participated; in dialogue with the community and with the support of the Callao Regional Office of Culture, they created a unique piece that combines different styles and will now become part of the area’s cultural legacy.

los conocimientos del mar y la historia de este Primer Puerto, que ha sido moldeado por generaciones de migrantes, trabajadores y artistas”, comentó Moira Novoa Silva, viceministra de Patrimonio Cultural e Industrias Culturales, durante la inauguración del mural situado en el jirón Jorge Chávez N° 130 frente al Astillero Maggiolo .

La muralización de 180 metros lineales fue presentada en un acto que reunió a representantes de las instituciones y empresas promotoras, así como a autoridades locales y vecinos del Callao. En esta línea, David Peñalver, gerente general de Coca-Cola Perú, subrayó la importancia de unir esfuerzos para continuar promoviendo el arte a nivel nacional y crear espacios que favorezcan el trabajo de los artistas locales.

The 180-meter-long mural was unveiled at an event attended by representatives of the sponsoring institutions and companies, as well as local authorities and residents of Callao. In this regard, David Peñalver, general manager of Coca-Cola Peru, emphasized the importance of joining forces to continue promoting art nationwide and creating spaces that support the work of local artists.
