Saving Pine Needles For Winter Medicine
<div class="pull-left" LOL, I was watching Xena while sorting my needles </div I collected a bunch of pine needles white pine for the freezer. Why? Pine Needles both red and white pine contain Vitamin C and antivirals 2 types - inhibits viral replication and inhibits cell binding that works on many respiratory viruses including Influenza! Awesome stuff. Funny how they are available through winter hence the term evergreens! It's like it was done on purpose!!!! <br <br <br <br <br <br <br <br <br <br <br
<div class="pull-right" </div I sorted them, meaning I saved only the quality needles. Then I placed them in a freezer bag to keep in the freezer. Why in the freezer? Because I discovered that if I dry them like I do most of my herbal collectables, they turn brown and just lose their properties. If I store them as is, they mold. They must either be picked fresh or they must be frozen. Again, being always available, it's like it was done by design to provide winter medicine. So cool! <br <div class="pull-left" </div I also collected some inner bark and therefore some bark from a downed branch to dry and have around as well. Astringent. Ton's of antimicrobial properties. Nice for tooth infections!!! I used it once for that and it was amazing. Good as a mouthwash, a wash to clean wounds, a compress for boils or infected skin, stuff like that. Nice to have around. <br <br Light weight too -…
